4 Reasons to Get Outdoors in the Northwest This Weekend | April 17th-19th 2015

In the Northwest, it’s no surprise when the weekend forecast includes rain. For those who don’t live here, Seattle has a reputation for nonstop rain. However, we all know that when the Northwest gets spurts of great weather, we definitely know to take advantage of it. According to the National Park Service, April 18th is the start of opening weekend for National Park Week. Take your family and explore what the Northwest national parks have to offer. Check out Mt. 2) Washington State Spring Fair

The Washington State Spring Fair kicks off this weekend. Just in case you were already starting to crave their famous scones, get your fix this weekend while enjoying the rides, carnival games and other entertainment. 3) The Tulip Festival is Still Going On

If you haven’t already visited this year, the Tulip Festival in Skagit County is going on for two more weeks! Along with visiting the beautiful tulips, this weekend check out the Downtown Mount Vernon Street Fair. It’s running from April 17th-19th Friday and Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm. 4) Seahawks 12k, 5k and 1-mile

Show some your 12th Man Spirit at the 12k Run in Renton. On Saturday, April 19th participants will gather at The Landing in Renton and run along Lake Washington Blvd and to the VMAC, the Seahawks training facility. Bring the whole family as the event offers 5k and 1-mile options for around the Renton/Landing neighborhood. Be on the lookout for Seahawk players, Sea Gals and Blitz Blue Thunder to cheer you on during the run. This event supports a great cause as they will be collecting donations to raise money for A Better Seattle.
